The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a dedicated Music Teacher to deliver high-quality music education across all key stages. This role offers the opportunity to shape the musical development of students and contribute to the cultural life of the school. The position may also lead the Arts Faculty, offering leadership and strategic development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective music lessons across all key stages
- Teach a broad and balanced music curriculum, including singing, instrumental skills, music theory, and composition
- Prepare students for GCSE Music (where applicable)
- Organise and lead performances, concerts, and school productions
- Develop and support choirs, ensembles, and extracurricular music activities
- Differentiate effectively to meet the needs of all learners
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and integrate technology where appropriate
- Assess, record, and report on student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
- Maintain a positive, well-managed learning environment
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Degree in Music or a related field
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching across a range of age groups (Early Years to Secondary desirable)
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for music education
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Preferred
- Experience leading a department or faculty
- Proven track record of curriculum development
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to lead whole-school initiatives and productions
