The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Music Teacher with a keyboard specialism and an interest in team sports to join a dynamic and well-resourced music department. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality music education across a wide age range and contribute to the school’s team games programme and pastoral support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music teaching to pupils aged 7–18, including KS2 to A level and performance-based ensembles.
  • Support and lead in the development of music ensembles and performance opportunities.
  • Contribute to the school’s team games programme and provide coaching in team sports.
  • Assist with pastoral care and tutoring within one of the school’s pupil houses.
  • Work closely with colleagues to maintain and enhance the music department’s reputation and standards.
  • Participate in professional development and mentorship opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on student progress and performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support the overall educational experience of students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Graduate of Music, with a keyboard specialism.
  • Demonstrable experience in teaching music to a range of age groups.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to supporting student development both academically and personally.
  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities, including team sports.

Preferred

  • Experience in coaching team sports.
  • Early Career Teacher (ECT) or recent graduate with a desire to begin a teaching career.
  • Experience in pastoral care or tutoring.
  • Familiarity with music performance and ensemble work.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
