The Opportunity:

As a Music Technology Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering a dynamic and innovative music curriculum. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a school known for its excellence in both academic and performing arts education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the music curriculum from KS3 to A-level, including the Music Technology course (Edexcel).
  • Support the delivery of the vocational Commercial Music Course.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that challenge and motivate students.
  • Mark student work with timely, constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and homework.
  • Monitor student performance using data and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Stay up to date with new developments in music technology and curriculum design.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in music technology software such as Ableton, Logic Pro, Cubase, Sibelius, and Muse-Score.
  • Contribute to school events, performances, and music productions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support continuous professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree-level qualification with demonstrable academic achievement.
  • Strong practical and theoretical musicianship skills.
  • Experience in teaching music at the secondary level.
  • Ability to manage student behavior effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Proficiency in ICT and music technology software.
  • Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Music Technology A-level.
  • Experience with vocational music training.
  • Competent piano or keyboard skills.
