The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Headteacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the Headteacher and leadership team in driving the strategic direction of the school. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on the school’s development and student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage key strategic areas of the school in collaboration with the Headteacher and senior leadership team.
  • Support the implementation of the school’s vision, mission, and strategic goals.
  • Oversee the development and performance of staff, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to the management of the school’s operations, including pastoral care, curriculum development, and staff development.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to ensure the school continues to deliver outstanding results and maintain its high standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of school initiatives and provide regular reports to the Headteacher and governors.
  • Represent the school at various meetings and events, both internally and externally.
  • Support the development of a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes student well-being and academic excellence.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, preferably as an Assistant Headteacher or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A relevant teaching qualification and leadership experience within a school setting.
  • Experience in strategic planning and implementation of school improvement initiatives.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a strong focus on student well-being and academic achievement.
  • Experience in managing and developing staff across different departments.
  • Experience in working with a diverse range of students and families.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement frameworks.
