The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Oboe Teacher to join our music department and provide high-quality instruction to students across all levels. This role involves coaching individual pupils and directing ensembles, contributing to a dynamic and vibrant music programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach individual pupils in oboe, providing expert instruction and support.
- Direct and lead ensembles across general, special provision, and specialist categories.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that align with the school’s vision and values.
- Collaborate with other music staff to enhance the overall music curriculum.
- Support students in achieving their full potential through performance and musical development.
- Maintain high standards of teaching and conduct regular assessments.
- Participate in school events and contribute to the broader music community.
- Stay updated with developments in music education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A music degree or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience as an oboe teacher or performer.
- Strong ability to coach individual students and lead ensembles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching within a specialist music school setting.
- Knowledge of music theory and performance practice.
- Experience with both traditional and contemporary music repertoire.
- Familiarity with music technology and digital teaching tools.
