The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team and support students with complex needs. This role involves delivering individualised therapy programs that address sensory, motor, and functional development. The successful candidate will work closely with educators, therapists, and families to enhance the learning and living experiences of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualised and group-based occupational therapy sessions to support students' sensory, motor, and functional development.
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to develop and implement comprehensive therapy plans.
• Assess and monitor students' progress, adjusting interventions as needed to meet individual goals.
• Provide guidance and support to staff on the integration of therapeutic strategies into daily routines and learning activities.
• Work closely with external agencies and professionals to ensure holistic student care and support.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of student care plans.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and therapy interventions.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that supports the well-being and development of all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified and experienced occupational therapist with a relevant degree and HCPC registration.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a specialist school or college for young adults with complex needs, including PMLD, SLD, and autism.
• Strong understanding of sensory, motor, and functional development in students with learning difficulties.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to develop and implement individualised therapy programs.

Preferred

• Experience working in a specialist education setting with students who have multiple needs.
• Experience with assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
• Knowledge of curriculum frameworks and educational support strategies.
• Experience with behaviour management and supporting students with complex needs.
