The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Weekend Caretaker to contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of a school’s buildings, grounds, and facilities. This role plays a key part in ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the cleanliness, security, and presentation of school buildings and grounds.
- Carry out general maintenance tasks including painting, carpentry, and plumbing.
- Assist with building repairs and ensure all facilities are in good working order.
- Support the Premises Manager in managing day-to-day operations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards across the site.
- Communicate effectively with staff and students to address any concerns or issues.
- Undertake duties during weekends and respond to any emergencies or urgent maintenance needs.
- Participate in training and development opportunities provided by the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Valid enhanced DBS certificate or eligibility to obtain one.
- General maintenance skills including painting, carpentry, and plumbing.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic IT skills.
- Flexibility and a practical approach to work.
Preferred
- Experience in a similar caretaking or maintenance role.
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
