The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher with a specialism in Biology to join our dynamic and high-achieving science department. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, plan, and deliver engaging and high-quality science lessons to students across Key Stages 3 to 5.
  • Foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through differentiated teaching and effective assessment strategies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and share best practices.
  • Stay up to date with developments in science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
  • Participate in professional development and training initiatives to maintain and enhance teaching expertise.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Science, preferably with a specialism in Biology.
  • Proven experience in teaching Science at Key Stages 3 to 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons.
  • Commitment to student achievement and the ability to support students of all abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a specialist school or college with a focus on Maths and Computing.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation in science education.
  • Familiarity with assessment and progress tracking systems.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching practices and supporting diverse student needs.
