The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher with a specialism in Biology to join our dynamic and high-achieving science department. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, plan, and deliver engaging and high-quality science lessons to students across Key Stages 3 to 5.
- Foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
- Support students in achieving their full potential through differentiated teaching and effective assessment strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and share best practices.
- Stay up to date with developments in science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
- Participate in professional development and training initiatives to maintain and enhance teaching expertise.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Science, preferably with a specialism in Biology.
- Proven experience in teaching Science at Key Stages 3 to 5.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons.
- Commitment to student achievement and the ability to support students of all abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in a specialist school or college with a focus on Maths and Computing.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation in science education.
- Familiarity with assessment and progress tracking systems.
- Experience with inclusive teaching practices and supporting diverse student needs.
