The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and well-qualified part-time Art Teacher to join our vibrant Arts Faculty. This role will suit a creative, motivated practitioner who balances high academic standards with a warm, student-facing presence. The successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic, creative environment and help students reach their full creative potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Art at all levels, with a focus on Pre-IB and IB Visual Arts.
  • Collaborate with Drama and Music departments on cross-faculty events and whole-school initiatives.
  • Support students in preparing for university applications in Art & Design.
  • Develop and deliver co-curricular activities in 3D design and/or textiles.
  • Curate and manage internal and external exhibitions showcasing student work.
  • Promote the importance of the Arts within the school and wider community.
  • Contribute to the development of the department’s studio spaces and facilities.
  • Foster strong, positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree directly relevant to the Visual Arts (including Design specialisms), a PGCE, and Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching Art up to Key Stage 4.
  • Experience contributing to whole-school events within an international school setting.
  • Experience offering subject-related co-curricular activities.

Preferred

  • Recent UK-based experience or experience in a high-performing British international school.
  • Experience in a HMC school or similar prestigious educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary approaches to teaching Art.
  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
