The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging PE lessons that inspire and motivate pupils of all abilities.
  • Develop and implement an effective PE curriculum that aligns with current pedagogical practices.
  • Lead and support extracurricular activities that promote physical development and team spirit.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continuously improve teaching methods.
  • Foster strong relationships with pupils, ensuring they feel valued and supported.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to support their development.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the overall mission and values of the institution.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and conduct within the PE department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to personal and professional development
  • Experience in delivering PE lessons to a range of age groups
  • Ability to motivate and inspire pupils

Preferred

  • Experience in leading extracurricular activities
  • Familiarity with Catholic school values and ethos
  • Experience with alternative provision or pastoral care
  • Knowledge of current PE pedagogy and curriculum development
  • Experience in working with diverse student needs
