The Opportunity:

As a Maths Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting the Head of Department in delivering high-quality mathematics education to students aged 11 to 18. This role offers the chance to work in a nurturing, dynamic environment where your teaching and leadership skills will make a real impact on student achievement and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective mathematics lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Support the Head of Department in coordinating curriculum development, pedagogy, and assessment strategies.
  • Analyze student performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted interventions.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of co-curricular activities, including clubs, competitions, and educational visits.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a supportive and high-achieving learning environment.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in mathematics education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
  • Provide pastoral support to students where appropriate, contributing to their overall well-being and academic success.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the mathematics department through professional collaboration and shared planning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching mathematics to students aged 11–18.
  • Strong subject knowledge in mathematics and a commitment to academic excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in co-curricular or extra-curricular activities.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a school setting.
  • Familiarity with A level mathematics and university-level study.
  • Experience with digital tools and resources for teaching and learning.
