The Opportunity:
As a Maths Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting the Head of Department in delivering high-quality mathematics education to students aged 11 to 18. This role offers the chance to work in a nurturing, dynamic environment where your teaching and leadership skills will make a real impact on student achievement and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective mathematics lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Support the Head of Department in coordinating curriculum development, pedagogy, and assessment strategies.
- Analyze student performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted interventions.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of co-curricular activities, including clubs, competitions, and educational visits.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a supportive and high-achieving learning environment.
- Stay up to date with best practices in mathematics education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
- Provide pastoral support to students where appropriate, contributing to their overall well-being and academic success.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the mathematics department through professional collaboration and shared planning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching mathematics to students aged 11–18.
- Strong subject knowledge in mathematics and a commitment to academic excellence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in co-curricular or extra-curricular activities.
- Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a school setting.
- Familiarity with A level mathematics and university-level study.
- Experience with digital tools and resources for teaching and learning.
