The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Physics Teacher to join a successful department that prepares students for top universities. This role involves teaching IGCSE and A Level Physics, with opportunities to contribute to extra-curricular activities and support the school's academic and personal development goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach IGCSE and A Level Physics to a diverse range of students.
  • Stimulate curiosity, interest, and enjoyment in Physics through engaging and innovative teaching methods.
  • Contribute to the development and running of the department, including marking, report writing, and administrative tasks.
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities, such as the annual CERN trip and Masterclass events.
  • Support the delivery of Maths teaching in the early years of the role if required.
  • Attend departmental meetings and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience.
  • Develop and lead a variety of clubs and activities for students across all age groups.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong passion for Physics and excellent subject knowledge.
  • The ability to inspire and engage students, fostering a love of learning.
  • Experience in teaching Physics at IGCSE and A Level.
  • A commitment to working as part of a team and contributing to the smooth running of the department.
  • A willingness to take on a range of responsibilities, including pastoral and administrative duties.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or developing extra-curricular activities.
  • Previous involvement in university outreach or enrichment programmes.
  • Experience with teaching Maths at any level.
  • A track record of preparing students for Oxbridge and Russell Group university entrance.
