The Opportunity:

As a Pool Manager and Swimming Coach, you will be responsible for managing and developing the school’s swimming programme for pupils aged 2–18. This role is ideal for someone passionate about swimming, safety, and creating a positive impact on young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the safe and efficient operation of the school’s swimming pool.
  • Deliver and develop high-quality swimming lessons and programmes for pupils of all ages and abilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including maintaining pool plant and equipment.
  • Coordinate with staff and external providers to support the delivery of swimming activities and events.
  • Monitor and report on the performance and progress of swimmers across all age groups.
  • Promote a culture of water safety and encourage participation in swimming at all levels.
  • Maintain accurate records of pool usage, maintenance, and training sessions.
  • Support the school’s broader sporting and recreational initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
  • National Pool Plant Operators Qualification (NPPO).
  • Swim England Level 2 Teaching Qualification (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in managing swimming programmes and pool operations.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, and the development of young swimmers.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or coaching swimming to children.
  • Familiarity with school environments and pupil development.
  • Knowledge of specialist music education or co-curricular activities.
