The Opportunity:

As a Primary Inclusion Learning Support Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs and learning barriers, helping them succeed academically and socially. This role is vital in creating an inclusive classroom environment and ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs and learning barriers through small group and 1:1 learning sessions.
  • Implement structured literacy and numeracy intervention programmes in line with individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with teachers to facilitate differentiated learning and ensure students can access the curriculum effectively.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to parents and teachers, providing regular feedback on achievements and development.
  • Promote inclusion, self-confidence, and independence through targeted strategies and positive reinforcement.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and support teachers in planning future learning activities.
  • Develop and manage appropriate resources and learning materials for students with diverse needs.
  • Participate in training, parent review meetings, and team meetings as part of the Inclusion Team.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE in English or equivalent, with strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Relevant qualification or completed training in education and special educational needs.
  • Experience working in a support role within a school environment.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Experience with special educational needs (SEND) support.
  • Commitment to student and staff privacy and confidentiality.
