The Opportunity:

As a Primary Music Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the musical development of students across Key Stages 1 and 2. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, inspirational music lessons that engage and motivate students
  • Develop and lead music clubs, assemblies, and productions
  • Collaborate with the Head of Department to enhance music curriculum and departmental practices
  • Support the well-being and pastoral care of students
  • Contribute to the broader life of the school through extra-curricular and community activities
  • Implement effective assessment strategies to monitor and support student progress
  • Work within a professional development framework that promotes continuous improvement and learning
  • Build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and stakeholders

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE
  • Proven experience in teaching at the primary level
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver inspirational and effective music lessons
  • Experience in running music clubs, assemblies, and productions
  • Commitment to student well-being and pastoral care
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage change in a dynamic environment

Preferred

  • Experience with the John Hattie Visible Learning programme
  • Background in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL/TEFL)
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation
  • Familiarity with music technology and digital resources
