Principal – Further Education opportunity at a specialist college supporting SEMH and Autism learners.

As Principal, you will lead a multi-campus college that focuses on SEMH and Autism provision, creating a safe, inclusive environment where students can thrive. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a specialist college and make a lasting impact on the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for a specialist SEMH and Autism setting
  • Create a nurturing, trauma-informed environment that supports student wellbeing and progress
  • Lead on safeguarding, compliance, and operational excellence across multiple campuses
  • Recruit, develop, and inspire a high-calibre multidisciplinary team
  • Collaborate with therapists and specialists to deliver personalised learning pathways
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and local authorities
  • Embed therapeutic and inclusive practices across all areas of the college
  • Ensure high standards of education and outcomes for all students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experienced Principal or Deputy Principal within SEN, SEMH, specialist provision or further education
  • Deep understanding of trauma-informed practice and inclusive education
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted and/or ISA frameworks
  • Proven ability in budget management, resource planning, and leading change
  • Qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with significant SEN leadership experience

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a multi-campus institution
  • Background in developing and implementing therapeutic educational approaches
  • Experience in creating and embedding organisational culture and values
