The Opportunity:
As a PYP Homeroom Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and inquiry-driven learning environment. You will design and implement transdisciplinary units that align with the IB Primary Years Programme, while promoting the social, emotional, and academic growth of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver transdisciplinary units aligned with the IB PYP framework.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports student wellbeing.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support student growth.
- Promote international-mindedness and global awareness through curriculum and classroom practices.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Develop students’ social, emotional, and academic skills through meaningful learning experiences.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress.
- Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a PYP Homeroom Teacher.
- Strong understanding of the IB Primary Years Programme and its pedagogical principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
- Commitment to student wellbeing and holistic development.
Preferred
- Experience in designing and implementing inquiry-based learning units.
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction and student-centered learning approaches.
- Experience with technology integration in the classroom.
