Key Responsibilities:
- Provide confidential counselling services to students and staff.
- Support the emotional and psychological well-being of pupils.
- Collaborate with teaching and support staff to create a positive learning environment.
- Deliver individual and group sessions tailored to the needs of students.
- Contribute to the development of school policies and initiatives related to mental health and well-being.
- Work closely with the Lead Counsellor and Senior Deputy Head to ensure consistent support across the school.
- Engage in professional development to maintain high standards of practice.
- Support initiatives across the wider Sherborne Schools Group when required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant qualification in counselling or a related field.
- Experience in providing support to young people in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Preferred
- Experience in school counselling or youth work.
- Familiarity with the UK education system and pastoral care.
- Knowledge of mental health and well-being support strategies.
- Experience working within a multi-school environment.
