The Opportunity:

As a School Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting the emotional, social, and academic wellbeing of students. You will work as part of a collaborative team to ensure students receive the guidance and support they need to thrive in a dynamic and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students through individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to develop and implement strategies for student success.
  • Provide guidance on academic, social, and personal development issues.
  • Monitor student progress and intervene when necessary to support wellbeing.
  • Organize and lead enrichment and extracurricular activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, and child protection procedures.
  • Act as a secondary form tutor and provide pastoral care to assigned students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Master’s degree in School Counseling, Child Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a school counseling or educational setting with elementary-aged children.
  • Strong understanding of child development, counseling theories, and evidence-based practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with both adults and children.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize your own work.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety & Safeguarding/Child Protection procedures and their application.
  • Knowledge of computers and ability to use ICT tools for record-keeping and as an instructional tool.

Preferred

  • Experience of modeled creative acting styles and techniques encompassing varied history genres and performance techniques.
  • Experience of working with highly aspirational and able students.
