The Opportunity:

A Science Teacher - Chemistry or Physics Specialism is required to inspire and educate students across all ability levels. The role involves supporting students preparing for prestigious university courses, including Oxbridge and Medicine, and extending learning beyond the classroom to foster a real-world understanding of science.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality science lessons in Chemistry and/or Physics to students of all abilities.
  • Support students in preparing for university applications, particularly Oxbridge and Medicine.
  • Develop engaging and innovative teaching strategies that promote deep subject knowledge.
  • Encourage and inspire students to explore science beyond the classroom.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and student outcomes.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school through co-curricular and pastoral activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continued academic development.
  • Maintain up-to-date subject knowledge and stay informed of developments in science education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Chemistry or Physics.
  • Proven experience teaching Science at secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry and/or Physics.
  • Ability to teach across all levels and abilities.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • Experience in preparing students for Oxbridge and Medicine applications.
  • Passion for extending learning beyond the classroom.
  • Experience in a specialist music school or co-curricular environment.
  • Familiarity with independent school culture and values.
