The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Secondary Art to students across a wide range of abilities and ages, ensuring engaging and challenging lessons.
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum and implement innovative teaching methods.
  • Support students through individual and group interventions, including pastoral care and academic guidance.
  • Participate in enrichment activities, co-curricular programs, and outreach initiatives.
  • Administer internal assessments and follow the school’s reporting policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to enhance professional development and share best practices.
  • Uphold the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree (2:1 or above) or a further degree in a directly related subject.
  • Demonstrated subject knowledge and passion for teaching Art at secondary level.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous professional development.
  • Experience with teaching students across different ability levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Cambridge International Curriculum or similar international curricula.
  • Familiarity with STEM+ approaches to education.
  • Experience in pastoral care and student welfare.
  • Strong ICT skills and ability to use technology in teaching and learning.
  • Experience in co-curricular or extra-curricular activities.
