The Opportunity:

As a Secondary Science Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping young minds across multiple levels, from lower secondary through to A level. This is an opportunity to contribute to a progressive, innovative curriculum while working in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Science to students across a wide range of abilities and ages, including IGCSE and A level.
  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons that challenge high achievers and support those who need additional help.
  • Contribute to the school’s co-curricular and pastoral activities, supporting student well-being.
  • Participate in professional development, curriculum design, and enrichment initiatives.
  • Administer internal assessments and contribute to student reporting and parent meetings.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to improve teaching methods and student outcomes.
  • Uphold the school’s values and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Support students through individual and group interventions, ensuring academic progress and personal growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant Education Degree or a degree with a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science, with a preference for Physics.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and innovative teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in student support and pastoral care.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Cambridge International Curriculum or similar international frameworks.
  • Familiarity with STEM+ educational approaches.
  • Experience in developing and delivering enrichment activities.
  • Proficiency in using ICT tools for teaching and learning.
  • Previous experience in a school with a strong focus on co-curricular and pastoral care.
