The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and ambitious Secondary Economics Teacher to join our expanding team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of young minds through engaging and dynamic teaching. The role involves delivering Economics lessons across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, including IGCSE and A Level programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Economics lessons across Secondary and Sixth Form.
  • Prepare students for external examinations including IGCSE and A Level.
  • Monitor and support student progress through effective assessment and feedback.
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school community.
  • Participate in curriculum development and collaborative departmental planning.
  • Support students’ academic and personal development through pastoral care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or equivalent).
  • A relevant university degree in Economics, Business, Finance or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Economics within the British Curriculum.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and strong classroom management skills.
  • High expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A Level Economics.
  • Experience in international or British schools overseas.
  • Ability to teach Business Studies.
  • Experience supporting university applications and career pathways.
  • Experience teaching subjects such as Mathematics or Business Studies would be considered a strong advantage.
