Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and individualised lessons tailored to the needs of students with complex needs and autism.
  • Work closely with families, therapists, and other professionals to support student progress and wellbeing.
  • Develop and implement individual education plans that reflect the unique needs and aspirations of each student.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, independence, and confidence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school and Trust to share best practices and enhance teaching methods.
  • Participate in professional development and research initiatives to continually improve teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing feedback to parents and carers.
  • Support students in developing life skills and preparing for transitions to further education and adult life.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience working with children with complex needs and autism.
  • Strong knowledge of special educational needs and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of individual students.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering individual education plans.
  • Background in practitioner-led research or innovative teaching methods.
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with the Bridge Trust’s values and approach to education.
