Summary:

Join a school as a SEN Support Assistant on a temporary basis to support students with additional needs.

The Opportunity:

As a SEN Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional needs, ensuring they have the tools and support necessary to engage with and succeed in their learning. This is a temporary position, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and dynamic educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to pupils with additional needs who are in receipt of an Education Health Care Plan.
  • Deliver special educational and/or medical support to facilitate successful engagement with learning.
  • Maintain accurate and professional records and notes relating to individual pupils.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and other professionals to support student progress.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment that promotes the well-being of all students.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized learning plans and strategies.
  • Support students in developing independence and life skills.
  • Attend relevant training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children with additional needs.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and notes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children.
  • Flexibility to work term time only and 32 hours per week.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and disability (SEND) support frameworks.
  • Experience with Education Health Care Plans.
  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar organization.
  • Experience in providing support for students with complex needs.
