The Opportunity:
As a Head of Academy, you will lead the strategic direction of the school, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning experiences for all students. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the academy and driving continuous improvement across the institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the overall operations of the academy, ensuring effective governance and compliance with educational standards.
- Oversee the development and implementation of the curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all learners.
- Provide professional leadership and support to teaching and support staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning outcomes to ensure consistent high standards across the academy.
- Work closely with the academy trust and other schools in the cluster to share best practices and drive collaborative improvement.
- Develop and implement new initiatives that enhance student achievement and engagement.
- Foster strong relationships with parents, students, and the local community to support the school’s mission and vision.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students and staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a senior educational role, preferably within an academy setting.
- Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and raising standards in teaching and learning.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development and the ability to implement effective teaching strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external partners.
- Experience in managing and leading a team of teaching and support staff.
Preferred
- Experience within a multi-academy trust or similar educational partnership.
- A commitment to professional development and leadership training.
- Experience in leading school improvement initiatives or whole-school change programs.
- Familiarity with Delta Academies Trust and its values and structures.
