Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons that support both academic progress and personal development.
  • Use a range of creative teaching strategies and resources to meet diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Adapt teaching in line with EHCP outcomes, individual targets, and developmental stages.
  • Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, recognising achievement in all areas of development.
  • Support the development of communication, independence, emotional regulation, and life skills.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide consistent, high-quality support.
  • Make effective use of specialist facilities and resources to enhance learning experiences.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A qualified teacher with UK QTS (or equivalent).
  • Passionate about working with pupils with SEN, autism, and complex needs.
  • Strong communicator, able to build trusting relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
  • Experienced in, or keen to develop skills within, specialist or alternative education settings.

Preferred

  • Creative, flexible, and responsive in your approach to teaching and learning.
  • Committed to pupil wellbeing, positive behaviour support, and inclusive practice.
  • Reflective, collaborative, and motivated to contribute to the ongoing development of the school.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Up to £40,000 per annum (not pro rata).
