The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Sports Assistant to support its thriving sports programme. This role is ideal for a recent graduate looking to gain experience in education, coaching, or teaching. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering sports activities and supporting students both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with coaching across a range of sports during curriculum lessons and Games afternoons
  • Lead and support co-curricular sports teams, including weekday training and weekend fixtures
  • Assist with trips, tournaments, and whole-school sporting events
  • Contribute to the wider boarding and pastoral life of the school, including evening and weekend duties
  • Act as a positive role model for pupils and promote the highest standards of sportsmanship and behaviour
  • Support the development of students through sports and extracurricular activities
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure a cohesive and engaging student experience
  • Participate in professional development opportunities provided by the school

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Recent graduate with a relevant degree or equivalent qualification
  • Enthusiastic and committed individual with a passion for sports and education
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Experience in coaching or working with young people

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching, coaching, or education
  • Knowledge of a range of sports and activities
  • Experience with boarding or pastoral care
  • Experience with professional development in education or sports
