Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in their learning and personal development through tailored assistance.
  • Assist with personal care and well-being, ensuring the comfort and dignity of students.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to implement individual education plans and support strategies.
  • Promote positive behavior and encourage student engagement in learning activities.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all students.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure consistency in student support.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance SEND knowledge and skills.
  • Contribute to the overall school community and support the school's mission and values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good understanding of the principles and practices of SEND education or a willingness to learn and develop in this area.
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude with a commitment to inspiring students.
  • The ability and willingness to provide personal care to students.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Minimum of 20.5 hours of availability per week, with flexible working hours.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with learning difficulties.
  • Previous experience in a special education setting.
  • Experience with Education, Healthcare Plans (EHCPs).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in providing support within a school environment.
