Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, individualized teaching to students with complex learning difficulties.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Collaborate with support staff, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing detailed feedback and support where needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior in line with school policies.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) education.
  • Support the school’s mission by contributing to staff development and sharing expertise with colleagues.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Strong understanding of teaching strategies for students with complex learning difficulties.
  • Experience in creating and delivering individualized learning plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience with Education, Healthcare Plans (EHCPs).
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and best practices in special needs education.
  • Experience in a designated hub school or similar setting.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and provide support across different learning areas.
