Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized teaching to students with complex learning difficulties.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Collaborate with support staff, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing detailed feedback and support where needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior in line with school policies.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Stay up to date with best practices in special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) education.
- Support the school’s mission by contributing to staff development and sharing expertise with colleagues.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Strong understanding of teaching strategies for students with complex learning difficulties.
- Experience in creating and delivering individualized learning plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience with Education, Healthcare Plans (EHCPs).
- Familiarity with Ofsted standards and best practices in special needs education.
- Experience in a designated hub school or similar setting.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and provide support across different learning areas.
