Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to the needs of students with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
  • Ensure the completion of all mandatory training, including Safeguarding, Prevent, and Foundations for Safer Care.
  • Develop and implement creative teaching strategies that promote student well-being and academic achievement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and external agencies to support student success.
  • Promote spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development within the curriculum.
  • Provide a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages positive behavior and personal growth.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent and high-quality teaching practices.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to support learning and development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience in teaching a core subject at GCSE level
  • Substantial recent experience of teaching students with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties
  • Evidence of successful teaching experience with vulnerable children
  • Good understanding of the Estyn Framework
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional resilience
  • Ability to safeguard children and maintain appropriate professional boundaries
  • Capacity to work independently and use initiative effectively

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Experience in developing and implementing inclusive teaching approaches
  • Background in pastoral care or student support
