Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons in English at KS3, KS4, and optionally KS5.
  • Plan and assess students' progress to ensure they meet high academic standards.
  • Contribute to departmental schemes of work and share best practices with colleagues.
  • Support students through form tutoring and PSHE delivery.
  • Maintain excellent organisational and IT skills to support teaching and administrative tasks.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student motivation and participation.
  • Promote the school’s ethos of academic excellence and character development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to raise student achievement and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
  • Proven track record of delivering high standards of achievement
  • Strong organisational and IT skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to pastoral care and form tutoring

Preferred

  • Experience teaching English at KS5
  • Innovative approach to classroom practice
  • Experience with PSHE and pastoral support
  • Familiarity with BTEC vocational qualifications
