Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage and inspire students of all abilities.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that align with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and feedback to ensure academic success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Science department.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, including science clubs, competitions, and STEM events.
  • Support the school’s values of Be Ready, Work Hard, Be Nice through positive role modeling and student engagement.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into your practice.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant Science subject knowledge.
  • Experience of teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and 4 (GCSE level).
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take ownership of departmental responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching A Level Science subjects.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching practices and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Experience with curriculum design and assessment strategies.
  • Experience of leading or contributing to professional development initiatives.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching technologies and resources.
