Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage and inspire students of all abilities.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that align with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and feedback to ensure academic success.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Science department.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, including science clubs, competitions, and STEM events.
- Support the school’s values of Be Ready, Work Hard, Be Nice through positive role modeling and student engagement.
- Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into your practice.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant Science subject knowledge.
- Experience of teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and 4 (GCSE level).
- Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take ownership of departmental responsibilities.
Preferred
- Experience of teaching A Level Science subjects.
- Experience with inclusive teaching practices and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Experience with curriculum design and assessment strategies.
- Experience of leading or contributing to professional development initiatives.
- Familiarity with modern teaching technologies and resources.
