Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality BTEC Extended Diploma courses with a focus on student engagement and achievement.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching, learning, and assessment strategies to support student progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the vocational Sport department and share best practices.
  • Promote student participation in sports and highlight the opportunities a career in sport can provide.
  • Support students in maximizing their potential through personalized guidance and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to the continuous improvement of the curriculum.
  • Encourage a culture of respect, high aspirations, and professional development within the department.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other college-wide initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant teaching qualification or equivalent experience, with the ability to deliver BTEC qualifications.
  • Demonstrable experience in teaching and assessing vocational courses.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in sport or physical education.
  • Familiarity with BTEC qualifications and assessment methods.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Background in practitioner research or collaboration with educational communities.
