Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality BTEC Extended Diploma courses with a focus on student engagement and achievement.
- Develop and implement effective teaching, learning, and assessment strategies to support student progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the vocational Sport department and share best practices.
- Promote student participation in sports and highlight the opportunities a career in sport can provide.
- Support students in maximizing their potential through personalized guidance and feedback.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to the continuous improvement of the curriculum.
- Encourage a culture of respect, high aspirations, and professional development within the department.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other college-wide initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant teaching qualification or equivalent experience, with the ability to deliver BTEC qualifications.
- Demonstrable experience in teaching and assessing vocational courses.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Preferred
- Experience in sport or physical education.
- Familiarity with BTEC qualifications and assessment methods.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Background in practitioner research or collaboration with educational communities.
