The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support the SEND department and contribute to the academic and personal development of students. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education and committed to making a difference in a supportive and growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs and disabilities in a classroom setting.
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to help students reach their full potential.
  • Monitor and record student progress and behavior.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as marking and record-keeping.
  • Contribute to school events and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to working in a Catholic school environment.
  • Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple priorities.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in education or a related field.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting, ideally within the SEND department.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Experience with behaviour management techniques.
  • Familiarity with educational software and tools.
