The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND provision, the Woodlands Learning Centre. This role is pivotal in supporting children with learning differences, ensuring they receive tailored care and education in a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils grow in confidence and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with learning differences through individualised and group-based teaching strategies.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons tailored to the needs of each child.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure a consistent and supportive learning experience.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to the teaching team.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all pupils.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing through consistent and compassionate support.
  • Engage in creative and outdoor learning experiences as part of the school’s enriched curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children with learning differences or special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in education or a related field.

Preferred

  • Experience in a SEND setting or specialist provision.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and practices.
  • Experience with outdoor learning or Forest School approaches.
  • Familiarity with the Mill Hill Education Group’s values and ethos.
