The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND provision, the Woodlands Learning Centre. This role is pivotal in supporting children with learning differences, ensuring they receive tailored care and education in a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils grow in confidence and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with learning differences through individualised and group-based teaching strategies.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons tailored to the needs of each child.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure a consistent and supportive learning experience.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to the teaching team.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all pupils.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing through consistent and compassionate support.
- Engage in creative and outdoor learning experiences as part of the school’s enriched curriculum.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with children with learning differences or special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in education or a related field.
Preferred
- Experience in a SEND setting or specialist provision.
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and practices.
- Experience with outdoor learning or Forest School approaches.
- Familiarity with the Mill Hill Education Group’s values and ethos.
