The Opportunity:
As a Sports Graduate Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the Physical Education and Sports department. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in coaching and officiating across a range of sports, including hockey, football, swimming, and more. You will also contribute to the broader life of the school, including participating in boarding house duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach and officiate in hockey, with additional experience in football, swimming, cross country, and athletics being an advantage.
- Support the delivery of sports programs, including netball, badminton, and cricket.
- Contribute to the development of students’ physical and social skills through sports activities.
- Assist in organizing and running sports events and competitions.
- Participate in boarding house duties, including one evening per week.
- Engage with students outside of formal sports sessions to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during all sports-related activities.
- Collaborate with the Physical Education/Sports department to deliver a high-quality program.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Recent graduate or someone taking a gap year with an interest in Physical Education or Sport.
- Ability to coach and officiate in hockey.
- Willingness to take on a full role within the school, including boarding house duties.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with willingness to undergo relevant checks.
Preferred
- Experience in coaching or officiating in additional sports such as football, swimming, cross country, or athletics.
- Ability to support the delivery of netball, badminton, and cricket.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with young people in an educational setting.
