Summary:
Teaching Assistant role at a school in the New Forest. Support students with SEMH and complex needs.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH and complex needs in a dynamic and supportive learning environment. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people while working with a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in the classroom and during learning activities
- Assist with planning and delivering individualised learning plans
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with complex needs
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure student progress
- Monitor and report on student behaviour and progress regularly
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students at all times
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience supporting in a classroom setting
- Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant field
- Commitment to working with students with SEMH and complex needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing environments
Preferred
- Experience with students on the autistic spectrum
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies
- Experience in a specialist educational setting
- Previous experience with safeguarding and child protection procedures
