The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, structured lessons tailored to the needs of students with autism and complex needs
  • Plan and implement medium-term and lesson plans in line with the school’s curriculum
  • Support students in developing both academic and life skills
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours in a positive and supportive manner
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s curriculum and teaching strategies
  • Provide individualised support to students with a range of learning difficulties and needs
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in special education
  • Experience working with students on the autistic spectrum or with complex needs
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage challenging behaviours
  • Commitment to providing a high standard of education and care

Preferred

  • Experience with the National Curriculum and curriculum differentiation
  • Experience working with students in a primary setting
  • Early Career Teacher with a commitment to professional development
  • Experience in teaching life and living skills
