Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, structured lessons tailored to the needs of students with autism and complex needs
- Plan and implement medium-term and lesson plans in line with the school’s curriculum
- Support students in developing both academic and life skills
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and multi-disciplinary teams
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours in a positive and supportive manner
- Contribute to the development of the school’s curriculum and teaching strategies
- Provide individualised support to students with a range of learning difficulties and needs
- Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in special education
- Experience working with students on the autistic spectrum or with complex needs
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage challenging behaviours
- Commitment to providing a high standard of education and care
Preferred
- Experience with the National Curriculum and curriculum differentiation
- Experience working with students in a primary setting
- Early Career Teacher with a commitment to professional development
- Experience in teaching life and living skills
