As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will work closely with teachers and pupils to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in lessons across a range of subjects through individual and small group assistance
- Implement tailored educational and behaviour support plans
- Assist in the development of pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural skills
- Prepare and manage learning resources and materials
- Accompany students on educational visits and enrichment activities
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and wellbeing
- Support with transporting students when required
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- A calm, patient, and caring approach, especially in challenging situations
- Experience working with secondary-age pupils
- Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff
- Commitment to the potential of every student
Preferred
- Experience in a trauma-informed or specialist education setting
- Knowledge of SEMH needs, ADHD, or autism
- Experience with behaviour management strategies
- Familiarity with educational visits and enrichment activities
