The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will work closely with teachers and pupils to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in lessons across a range of subjects through individual and small group assistance
  • Implement tailored educational and behaviour support plans
  • Assist in the development of pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural skills
  • Prepare and manage learning resources and materials
  • Accompany students on educational visits and enrichment activities
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and wellbeing
  • Support with transporting students when required

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • A calm, patient, and caring approach, especially in challenging situations
  • Experience working with secondary-age pupils
  • Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Commitment to the potential of every student

Preferred

  • Experience in a trauma-informed or specialist education setting
  • Knowledge of SEMH needs, ADHD, or autism
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies
  • Familiarity with educational visits and enrichment activities
