The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant Level 2, you will support the delivery of the curriculum within the SEND department, helping students achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of lessons and learning activities in line with the school’s knowledge-first teaching approach.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of resources and materials for lessons.
  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Monitor and record student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENDCo and Deputy SENDCo to ensure the needs of all students are met.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and learning.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Support the school’s commitment to closing the achievement gap and ensuring equity for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in a teaching or support role, preferably within a school setting.
  • A commitment to the school’s values of aspiration, commitment, and success.
  • Understanding of inclusive education and the needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in knowledge-first teaching and memory recall techniques.
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with curriculum sequencing and responsive teaching practices.
  • Experience with the use of educational technology in the classroom.
