The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant - Lower School, you will support the delivery of engaging and effective learning experiences for young children. You will work closely with teachers to ensure a nurturing and stimulating environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching staff in delivering lessons and activities to meet the needs of children.
  • Assist in the supervision and management of children during lessons and breaks.
  • Help create and implement fun, educational activities that align with the school’s curriculum.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to promote student well-being and academic progress.
  • Provide individualised support to students as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with young children in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from teachers.
  • Commitment to creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a diverse range of students.

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of child development and learning theories.
  • Experience with the UK National Curriculum or equivalent.
  • Confidence in using technology to support teaching and learning.
  • Experience with enrichment and extracurricular activities.
