The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant - Lower School, you will support the delivery of engaging and effective learning experiences for young children. You will work closely with teachers to ensure a nurturing and stimulating environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teaching staff in delivering lessons and activities to meet the needs of children.
- Assist in the supervision and management of children during lessons and breaks.
- Help create and implement fun, educational activities that align with the school’s curriculum.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all students.
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to promote student well-being and academic progress.
- Provide individualised support to students as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with young children in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from teachers.
- Commitment to creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a diverse range of students.
Preferred
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of child development and learning theories.
- Experience with the UK National Curriculum or equivalent.
- Confidence in using technology to support teaching and learning.
- Experience with enrichment and extracurricular activities.
