The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of high-quality science lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
  • Work closely with experienced mentors to develop teaching practice and classroom management skills.
  • Engage in regular, research-based professional development and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school and within the United Learning network.
  • Participate in curriculum planning and development, using well-resourced and structured teaching materials.
  • Contribute to the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
  • Attend training sessions with United Teaching, including online and face-to-face learning.
  • Undertake learning walks and receive incremental feedback to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A minimum of a 2:2 degree in a relevant science subject.
  • Commitment to gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Ability to work in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or tutoring.
  • Familiarity with science curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Passion for inspiring students and a commitment to education.
