The Opportunity:

As a University Counsellor, you will play a key role in guiding students through the university application process. You will support high-achieving students targeting top US and UK universities, offering expert advice and creating tailored university application plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Counsel A1 & A2 students on developing university applications, including personal statements and course options.
  • Work with G1 students to set long-term university goals and develop a four-year plan.
  • Deliver university application “enrichment” and PSHE classes for G2 & A1 students.
  • Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and resources.
  • Build relationships with parents and attend parent-counsellor meetings and events.
  • Help students create official school lists with safety, target, and reach university options.
  • Ensure all application documents are sent in compliance with school guidelines and deadlines.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum 2 years of counselling experience in relevant area.
  • UK/US counselling experience preferred.
  • Ability to counsel high-achieving students targeting top US and UK universities.
  • A degree in your area of expertise.
  • College Counselling qualifications (US college counselling certification & British Council certification or equivalents).

Preferred

  • Experience with the UK or US curriculum.
  • Familiarity with the Chinese education context.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with university application processes.
