The Opportunity:

A Visiting Music Teacher (Cello and/or Double Bass) is needed to inspire and support students across the 3–18 age range. This role offers the chance to shape young musicians through individual tuition, co-curricular events, and a wide range of performance opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality individual lessons in Cello and/or Double Bass across the 3–18 age range
  • Support pupils of varying abilities, including preparation for exams, performances and scholarships
  • Inspire and challenge pupils to achieve their full musical potential
  • Contribute to concerts, performances and wider musical events
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
  • Potentially lead or support ensembles, depending on experience and interest
  • Contribute to the vibrant co-curricular life of the school
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Music and other department members

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong instrumental expertise in Cello and/or Double Bass
  • Experience teaching children and young people across a range of ages and abilities
  • The ability to inspire, motivate and support pupils at all stages of their musical journey
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for working as part of a team

Preferred

  • Experience with exam preparation or performance coaching
  • Experience leading or supporting ensembles
  • Familiarity with a wide range of musical styles and performance opportunities
