The Opportunity:
As Head of Mathematics, you will lead a successful department and shape the strategic direction of Mathematics teaching. You will inspire students, drive academic outcomes, and lead a programme of enrichment that promotes a love of the subject.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a successful Mathematics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across the 11–18 age range.
- Develop and implement schemes of learning that are current, engaging, and effective.
- Analyse student performance data and implement targeted interventions to raise attainment.
- Lead and develop a programme of academic enrichment, including clubs, competitions, and trips.
- Support and mentor colleagues, fostering a collaborative and innovative teaching culture.
- Oversee the planning and delivery of Mathematics at all key stages, including A Level and Further Mathematics.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including co-curricular and pastoral activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience teaching Mathematics across the 11–18 age range, including A Level and Further Mathematics.
- Strong leadership and management experience within an academic department.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse data and implement strategies to improve student outcomes.
- Commitment to pastoral care and student wellbeing.
Preferred
- Experience with Edexcel International GCSE and A Level Mathematics specifications.
- Familiarity with digital teaching resources such as Dr Frost Maths and Integral.
- Experience in leading academic enrichment and extracurricular activities.
- Background in co-curricular or pastoral roles within a school setting.
