The Opportunity:

As Assistant Head of Sixth Form, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting students’ academic and personal growth. You will lead a Year 12 or 13 cohort, ensuring high standards of behaviour and wellbeing, while contributing to the school’s mission of excellence and student development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the academic and personal progress of a Year 12 or 13 cohort.
  • Promote and maintain the highest standards of student behaviour and discipline.
  • Implement and oversee strategies to support student welfare and wellbeing.
  • Work closely with the Head of Sixth Form and other senior staff to develop and deliver effective student support systems.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students through the role of Form Tutor or other responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff on initiatives such as UCAS applications and EPQ.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of professional development opportunities for students and staff.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with parents, students, and colleagues.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role within education.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in student welfare, behaviour management, and academic support.
  • Commitment to student development and a track record of working with young people.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Sixth Form leadership role.
  • Familiarity with UCAS applications and EPQ support.
  • Experience in teaching or tutoring at the Sixth Form level.
  • A background in pastoral care or student mentoring.
  • Strong understanding of educational policies and procedures.
