The Opportunity:
As Assistant Head of Sixth Form, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting students’ academic and personal growth. You will lead a Year 12 or 13 cohort, ensuring high standards of behaviour and wellbeing, while contributing to the school’s mission of excellence and student development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the academic and personal progress of a Year 12 or 13 cohort.
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of student behaviour and discipline.
- Implement and oversee strategies to support student welfare and wellbeing.
- Work closely with the Head of Sixth Form and other senior staff to develop and deliver effective student support systems.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students through the role of Form Tutor or other responsibilities.
- Collaborate with teaching and support staff on initiatives such as UCAS applications and EPQ.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of professional development opportunities for students and staff.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with parents, students, and colleagues.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a leadership or management role within education.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in student welfare, behaviour management, and academic support.
- Commitment to student development and a track record of working with young people.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Preferred
- Experience in a Sixth Form leadership role.
- Familiarity with UCAS applications and EPQ support.
- Experience in teaching or tutoring at the Sixth Form level.
- A background in pastoral care or student mentoring.
- Strong understanding of educational policies and procedures.
