The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Assistant Headteacher to lead Pathway 3 and contribute to the continued success of a school with an outstanding Ofsted rating. This is a unique opportunity to shape and enhance SEND provision while making a meaningful impact on students' lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage Pathway 3, ensuring high-quality educational outcomes for students with complex needs
- Support the Headteacher in strategic planning, policy development, and school improvement initiatives
- Oversee staff development, performance management, and the delivery of a supportive and inclusive school culture
- Collaborate with external agencies, parents, and carers to ensure holistic student support
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching, learning, and support strategies
- Represent the school at meetings, conferences, and other events
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and statutory requirements
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of SEND provision and inclusive practices
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting
- Relevant teaching or management experience in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
- Strong knowledge of SEND policy, legislation, and best practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
Preferred
- Experience in a senior leadership or assistant headteacher role
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation in SEND education
- Experience with data analysis and performance monitoring
- Experience with staff training and professional development
