The Opportunity:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will support teaching staff by managing work programmes for individuals and groups, both in and out of the classroom. This role is ideal for someone looking to begin a teaching career while gaining valuable experience in a high-achieving, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise students during short-term teacher absences.
  • Implement work programmes in line with teaching staff guidance.
  • Support individual and group learning in or out of the classroom.
  • Maintain a safe and productive learning environment for all students.
  • Communicate effectively with teaching staff and students.
  • Assist in the smooth operation of the school during periods of staff absence.
  • Ensure the delivery of quality learning experiences in the absence of regular teaching staff.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to support student progress and well-being.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage student behavior.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work term time plus 5 days per week.

Preferred

  • Experience in education or a related field.
  • Some teaching or supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of curriculum requirements and teaching practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
