The Opportunity:

As Assistant Principal - Attendance, Behaviour and Standards, you will play a pivotal role in driving sustained improvements in student conduct, attendance, and behaviour for learning. This is a strategic leadership position that supports the school’s mission by ensuring a calm, purposeful, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement robust systems and interventions to improve attendance, behaviour, and student conduct.
  • Use data to identify trends, remove barriers to learning, and support student success.
  • Work closely with the Principal and leadership team to embed long-term improvements across the school.
  • Promote a culture of high expectations, equity, and safeguarding.
  • Collaborate with staff, students, families, and external agencies to achieve the best outcomes for students.
  • Support and lead co-curricular and personal development programmes, including sport, music, drama, and public speaking.
  • Ensure consistent application of school policies and procedures across all student groups.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education.
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to drive sustained improvement.
  • Demonstrated success in improving attendance and behaviour outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Preferred

  • Experience with data-driven decision making in educational settings.
  • Background in co-curricular or personal development programme leadership.
  • Experience working in a state boarding school or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate curriculum.
